## 1. Seedrs Campaign Description (About This Business)

**Your money, finally working with you — not against you.**

Most people in the UK have no clear picture of where their money goes. They're juggling two or three bank accounts, paying for subscriptions they forgot about, carrying debt with no clear payoff date, and making financial decisions based on gut feeling rather than real data. Existing apps either show you the data without helping you act on it, or charge US-dollar prices for a US-built product that doesn't quite fit UK financial life.

Klar is a UK personal finance app that combines transaction tracking, budget management, savings goals, debt payoff planning, and subscription management — with a live AI financial advisor built in. Ask it whether you can afford a holiday, whether to overpay your mortgage, or simply where your money went last month. It answers in plain English, in real time.

We've built Klar because the market timing is genuinely exceptional right now. Cleo — the AI-first money app — retreated to the United States and is only in a staged waitlist relaunch in the UK as of early 2026. Moneyhub, a respected consumer budgeting app, is permanently closing its consumer product in August 2026, leaving a pool of financially engaged, paying users looking for a replacement. No UK-headquartered competitor has a live conversational AI advisor today. That gap is ours.

Klar is live at klarmoney.netlify.app, available in UK (GBP) and South Africa (ZAR), with tiered pricing from £3.99/month. We're pre-revenue, in soft launch phase, and using this raise to fund growth, Open Banking integration, and our FCA AISP registration process.

**The ask:** We're raising £200,000 on Seedrs at a £1.5M pre-money valuation. Funds will be used to accelerate user acquisition, build out Open Banking connectivity, and progress FCA authorisation.

**Tax relief:** This round is expected to qualify for SEIS and EIS tax relief — meaning UK investors may receive up to 50% income tax relief on their investment. Advance assurance has been applied for from HMRC.

This is early-stage investing. We're honest about that. But the product is built, the market gap is real, and the window is open.

## 2. Ten-Slide Deck Outline

---

### Slide 1 — Cover

**Job:** Create a strong first impression and immediately anchor the AI differentiator.

- Klar — Your AI-Powered Money App
- The only UK personal finance app with a live conversational AI advisor
- Raising £200K on Seedrs | £1.5M pre-money valuation
- SEIS/EIS eligible | klarmoney.netlify.app
- Founder name(s) and brief credential line

---

### Slide 2 — The Problem

**Job:** Make the investor feel the pain before offering the solution — use facts, not abstractions.

- UK consumers average 2–3 bank accounts with no single view of their finances
- 16.5 million Open Banking connections in the UK (up 36% in 2025) — demand is proven, but the apps haven't kept up
- Existing budgeting apps show data without acting on it — users are left to interpret numbers alone
- UK consumer debt at historic highs; subscription creep has become a genuine household financial drain
- The cost-of-living crisis has made budgeting a mainstream necessity, not a niche behaviour

---

### Slide 3 — Our Solution

**Job:** Show what Klar actually does and why it's different in one clear pass.

- Full-stack personal finance: transactions, budgets, savings goals, debt tracking, subscriptions — one product
- AI advisor powered by Groq/LLaMA 3.3-70b — ask it questions, get real answers in plain English
- Works offline (single-file architecture) — no connectivity required on a commute
- Available in UK (GBP) and South Africa (ZAR) from day one — internationalisation built in
- No bank account required, no Open Banking dependency for core use — accessible immediately

---

### Slide 4 — Market Opportunity

**Job:** Show the market is large enough to justify the raise and growing in the right direction.

- UK personal finance software market: USD 53.2M in 2025, growing to USD 86.9M by 2034 (CAGR 5.4%, IMARC Group)
- Open Banking API calls: 24 billion in 2025 (+27% YoY); payments up 57% — structural adoption, not experiment
- Addressable user base: UK adults with 2+ bank accounts and existing money anxiety (tens of millions)
- South Africa personal finance app market: emerging, high smartphone penetration, largely underserved by Western apps
- The move from passive data display to AI-assisted advice is the next product generation — we are building it now

---

### Slide 5 — Product (Screenshots / Demo)

**Job:** Let the product speak — this slide earns credibility that claims alone cannot.

- Dashboard view: net worth, budget ring, savings progress, debt tracker in one screen
- AI advisor conversation: real example Q&A (e.g. "Can I afford a holiday in October?")
- Subscription manager: flagged forgotten subscriptions with monthly cost totalling
- Debt payoff planner: avalanche vs snowball scenarios with payoff date projection
- Live URL for investors to test before they invest: klarmoney.netlify.app

---

### Slide 6 — Business Model

**Job:** Demonstrate a clear, proven SaaS revenue model with logical upgrade paths.

- Freemium SaaS with three paid tiers: Essential £3.99/mo, Pro £7.99/mo, Family £11.99/mo (in development)
- Billing via Lemon Squeezy (handles UK/international VAT compliance automatically); Bill Pay processed separately via Stripe
- Unit economics target: convert free users to Essential at 10–15%, upgrade 20–30% to Pro over 12 months
- No lending, no referral kickbacks, no data selling — revenue comes entirely from subscribers
- Long-term adjacency: AI-powered financial coaching upsell; potential B2B2C (employer financial wellness)

---

### Slide 7 — Competitive Landscape

**Job:** Show you understand the competition and have a credible, defensible position — not that competitors don't exist.

- Emma (£4.99–£14.99/mo): No AI, stagnant budgeting UX, manual re-categorisation still required on paid plans
- Plum (£4–£15/mo): Investment-first, FCA regulatory action against Plum UK Limited (Feb 2025), budgeting is secondary
- Cleo: Strongest AI but US-focused; UK relaunch on waitlist with USD pricing and no UK-specific features live
- Snoop (free/£4.99): Owned by Vanquis (subprime lender) — structural conflict of interest in recommendations
- YNAB: ~£85/yr, no UK bank import, no AI, US-native methodology
- Moneyhub consumer app: closing August 2026 — pre-qualified audience actively seeking a replacement
- **Klar's position:** Only UK-targeted app with live AI advisor, broadest feature set at mid-market price, dual-region from day one

---

### Slide 8 — Traction & Roadmap

**Job:** Be honest about stage while showing the next 18 months are credible and concrete.

- Current status: Soft launch, pre-revenue, live at klarmoney.netlify.app
- App is fully functional: all core modules live, AI advisor operational, Supabase cloud sync running
- Immediate: Moneyhub user acquisition campaign targeting August 2026 closure (time-limited window)
- Q3 2026: FCA AISP registration application submitted; Open Banking integration development begins
- Q4 2026: Family plan launch; first paid subscriber milestone target
- H1 2027: Open Banking connectivity live; marketing campaigns scaled with raised capital
- Month 22 base case: £1M ARR (conservative: £330K; optimistic: £1.1M at month 14)

---

### Slide 9 — Financials

**Job:** Show the model is grounded in realistic assumptions, not hockey-stick fantasy.

- Three-scenario model built: conservative (£330K ARR, month 24), base (£1M ARR, month 22), optimistic (£1.1M ARR, month 14)
- Use of £200K raise: user acquisition spend (40%), Open Banking/FCA AISP development (35%), operational runway (25%)
- Break-even at approximately [founder to insert] paid subscribers at Essential tier equivalent blended ARPU of ~£6.50/mo
- Key metric: paid conversion rate from free tier — target 12% at 6 months based on comparable SaaS benchmarks
- Current burn: minimal (cloud infrastructure costs under £50/mo at current scale)
- SEIS/EIS: advance assurance pending; this round expected to qualify — up to 50% income tax relief for UK investors

---

### Slide 10 — The Ask + Team

**Job:** Close with clarity on what investors get, what you'll do with the money, and why this team executes.

- Raising £200,000 at £1.5M pre-money valuation (£1.7M post-money)
- SEIS/EIS eligible — advance assurance applied to HMRC; confirm before committing
- Use of funds: growth marketing and Moneyhub user acquisition (40%), Open Banking/FCA AISP (35%), runway (25%)
- Founder: [Name] — [relevant background: fintech / software / finance — founder to complete]
- Why this team: product already built and live, dual-market deployment already running, full competitive and regulatory landscape already mapped
- Investor materials, live app, and financial model available at [link or on request]
- Campaign live on Seedrs: [URL when live]

## 3. "Why Klar Wins" — Founder Narrative Paragraph

The UK personal finance app market is at a genuine inflection point, and Klar is positioned at exactly the right moment. Cleo — the only credible AI-native competitor — retreated to the US market and is relaunching in the UK on a waitlist, with dollar pricing and none of its headline features working here. Moneyhub is closing its consumer app in August 2026, handing us a pool of sophisticated, already-paying users who need a new home. Meanwhile, Emma and YNAB have no AI features at all, and Snoop is owned by a subprime lender whose financial interests conflict directly with the users it purports to advise. Klar ships today with a live conversational AI advisor, offline capability, multi-region support, and the broadest feature set in the £4–£8/month price band. We didn't build a spreadsheet with a nicer interface. We built the product the market is ready for, at the moment the competition has left the door open.
